Theodore "Ted" J. Lantz, 81, formerly of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, 24 March 2015, at Sunrise Senior Living of Rochester, in Rochester, Michigan. Born 21 February 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late Theodore Lantz and Elsa Schillinger Lantz, and husband of the late Nancy Carleton Lantz. He was a member of First Wayne Street United Methodist Church for more than three decades.

He was a mechanical engineer for General Electric for 37 years. After his retirement, he worked as a mechanical and manufacturing engineering consultant for several years, then...

Theodore "Ted" J. Lantz, 81, formerly of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, 24 March 2015, at Sunrise Senior Living of Rochester, in Rochester, Michigan. Born 21 February 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late Theodore Lantz and Elsa Schillinger Lantz, and husband of the late Nancy Carleton Lantz. He was a member of First Wayne Street United Methodist Church for more than three decades.

He was a mechanical engineer for General Electric for 37 years. After his retirement, he worked as a mechanical and manufacturing engineering consultant for several years, then as an adjunct professor at Trine University, where he taught economics from an engineering perspective for a decade.

Surviving him are his daughters, Susan (Tim Jones) Lantz of Hillside, Illinois, Linda (Ches) Brandon of Savannah, Georgia, and Laura Littrell of Shelby Township, Michigan; six grandchildren: Tim Brandon of Louisville, Kentucky, Tara Littrell of Troy, Michigan, Lauren Littrell of Shelby Township, Michigan, Brad (Natalia) Brandon of Charleston, South Carolina, Lisa (Travis) Joiner of Mount Vernon, Illinois, and Andrew Jones of Dallas, Georgia; and six great-grandchildren: Serenity Littrell, Gavin Goodlesky, Savannah Littrell, Parker Brandon, Kyleigh Jones, and Selene Littrell.

Funeral service is at 10 a.m. Wednesday, 01 April, 2015, at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, with calling one hour prior; the Rev. Greg Enstrom officiating. Calling also from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, 31 March, 2015 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Ted and Nancy Lantz Engineering Scholarship at Trine University in Angola, Indiana or to the music program at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
